PROJECT ON ESTABLISHMENT OF RIZE DISASTER INFORMATION SYSTEM AND METEOROLOGICAL EARLY WARNING SYSTEM (RABIS) OF GOVERNORSHIP AND MUNICIPALITY OF RIZE

It is planned to establish a system to minimize the loss of human and material damages against disasters that might affect Rize Province, using especially GIS remote sensing and meteorological early warning systems with the project carried out by ITU Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Geodesy and Photogrammetry, Surveying Technique Division and Ulusal CAD ve GIS Çözümleri A.Ş., supported by TUBITAK. Furthermore, a GIS-based information and management system standard model, which will constitute a model to applications throughout Turkey to function as a decision support system for central and provinces administration (ministries, governorships, district governorates, municipalities) in ordinary times, shall be applied for Rize.
